KARING
We began as Katrina Relief in Northbrook and Glenview,
drawing local volunteers, but the organization has expanded with
assistance coming from across Northern Illinois. The organization was
created to provide long-term support for residents of the Gulf coast,
with special focus on the residents of Waveland, Mississippi who were
affected by the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina. Our mission
is to raise funds and coordinate projects that rebuild and enrich the
lives of community residents. Long-term, we hope to build an enduring
network of personal connections that enrich their lives and strengthen
both of our communities.
We will not be doing a holiday gift collection this year. We provided
wonderful gifts for two years that were greatly appreciated. Times are tough
for a lot of people right now. For those of you that would like to do a
little something for the holidays please consider sending a child to Camp
KARING 4.

| Camp KARING 4 will be held the week of June 22, 2009.
The week costs $125 per child. The costs include all of their food,
transportation and activities.You will receive a thank you note from
your child during CK4 next summer. We appreciate all of the generous
help that has been so freely given by those who have contributed to
Karing and Waveland.

We all felt at the end of camp last summer that this may be the single
most rewarding thing that any of us have ever done or been a part of. Some of
us will be attending our 4th year of camp next summer, others for the first
time. Consider joining us. Although it is hard work we do have lots of fun.
The memories and relationships that are built in Waveland come right back to us
at home.
